Choose fixed slots or flexible booking

Match a service to the booking flow that reflects how its duration and availability really work.

Choose fixed slots for services with a dependable duration that fit the published weekly schedule. Choose flexible booking when the customer should send free-text details and the business needs to arrange timing outside the generated slot flow.

  1. 1. Check the duration

    If the duration varies substantially from one customer to another, start with flexible booking.

  2. 2. Check capacity

    Limit bookings per slot applies to one service. It does not stop two different services sharing the same practitioner from accepting the same time. Use deliberately non-overlapping service schedules or arrange requests manually when that fits your workflow.

  3. 3. Check coordination needs

    Choose Flexible request when timing, location or scope needs discussion. Turn Auto-accept bookings off if each request must start pending. Flexible requests do not have selectable appointment slots; agree details using the contact method available for that customer.

  4. 4. Set the type on the service

    Open the service editor, select the appropriate booking type, and save.

  5. 5. Test the customer view

    Complete a test request and verify that the wording accurately describes whether the appointment is pending or confirmed.
